FAQ
Can I get a refund?
I’m not familiar with a virtual race, what is it?
A Virtual PLUS race is one that you run or walk at whatever location and time suits you best. Packet pickup will be at a curbside location, mailed, or hand delivered. Runners finish their race miles on their own time at their preferred location.
Why can’t you have the actual race?
While our intentions and planning are focused on producing the same great Naperville Half Marathon & 5K that runners enjoy each year, unfortunately this year’s pandemic has understandably caused most 2020 events across the country to be cancelled or postponed. While conditions continue to change daily the health and well-being of all participants and spectators is our utmost concern and decisions will always be made with that as our #1 priority.
What about my Legacy streak?
If you pick up your packet and the race becomes virtual, then you will receive credit for your Legacy streak this year.
What if I don’t want to run a virtual race?
Registered runners can defer their entry to 2021 prior to 9/1/2020.
Can I run a shorter race than I registered for?
As is our policy each year, runners can always run any distance shorter than what they registered for and still be an official finisher.
How do I register for the virtual race?
Visit our Half Marathon registration page OR 5K registration page!
What about my Triple Crown/Valley Ville medal?
If you signed up for these and meet the qualifications, upon finishing the VIRTUAL Naperville Half you will receive (along with your many other items listed above) your Challenge Medal too! If your Chicago race was cancelled you have TWO options to earn a Chicagoland Triple Crown medal. Send us proof of registration for your Chicago race via email at info@naperville26.com OR run 13.1 or higher anywhere in the chicagoland area by 9/30, take a selfie during or after your run and send it to us via email at info@naperville26.com. You MUST choose your challenge race at the time on your Naperville registration to qualify.
How will Packet Pickup work?
Packet pickup will be available by your choice of curbside or mail. See our Packet Pickup page for details.

I’d like to switch from the Half Marathon to the 5K, is that possible?

I’d like to switch from the 5K to the Half Marathon, is that possible?
Yes, you can modify your race through your Events.com account, subject to availability. There is an upgrade fee to change from the 5K to the half marathon. The paid 5K race fee will be credited toward your new race.
Are runners who are under 18 allowed to register?
Runners age 14 and over on race day can register for the half marathon, but should be sure it will not interfere with their high school team eligibility before registering. Runners age 8 and over on race day can register for the 5K.
I am registered. How do I change my email address or any other personal info?
That’s simple. Confirm your registration and choose the option to update your data. You will not be able to update your name or email. They are you identity in the registration system. You will have to re-register, and email us at info@naperville26.com so we can void and refund your incorrect registration.
I am injured and/or cannot run the event (family commitment, work obligation, etc.). Can I donate my entry or transfer my entry to someone else?
No. All registrations are nontransferable and non-refundable as stated in the waiver you sign when you register. Please note that according to our rules, transferring or selling registrations or bibs is not allowed and both runners will be disqualified and banned from future events.
