2021 Healthy Driven Naperville Half Marathon & 5K COVID-19 Updates
Statement From the Race Directors
- Option to Switch to the Virtual Race Extended: Runners have the option to switch to the virtual race anytime between now and Sunday, October 10th. There is a $10 fee to switch to the virtual race to account for mailing and processing fees. Click here to switch to the virtual race.
- Race Day Mask options: Whether or not masks become required at the race start, we will provide trash receptacles so that participants more comfortable wearing masks before the start will be able to dispose of them as they cross the start line. We will have masks available at the finish chute for those who are more comfortable wearing masks in post-race village.
- There will not be a 2021 Health & Fitness Expo: In order to limit time indoors and large crowds, there will not be a Health & Fitness Expo. Packet pickup will be available at Edward Fitness Center. Stay tuned for details.
- Outdoor Packet Pickup option: Runners not comfortable with the indoor packet pickup option may schedule a time to arrive at packet pickup and have their packet brought outside. Scheduling your outdoor pickup will be available on the website soon.
Any further health and safety modifications needed at packet pickup and at the in-person race will be based on CDC Guidelines and county health department guidelines in place for the area race week, as well as consultation with city officials.
We will continue to provide updates as race day approaches. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we all do our best to provide a safe in-person experience race weekend and to set a good example so that future events may continue.
Sponsored by Edward-Elmhurst Health, the Healthy Driven Naperville Half Marathon & 5K draws participants to Naperville’s lively downtown, historic sights and beautiful neighborhoods. Runners will delight in the kinetic atmosphere and well-managed course, made possible by extensive volunteer and spectator support.
